Flipping the script on Shakespeare!

Our theatre company aims to “flip the script” on gender inequality in the theatre. We work to provide safe spaces for people of all backgrounds and identities to express themselves through theatrical performance. As an all-female and gender non-conforming company we want to subvert the patriarchal roots of Shakespeare and classical theatre through performance. We want to provide work that allows people who do not fit into a box to see themselves represented on stage in leading roles and complex characters.

As You Like It

This story is set in the 21st Century in a Modern Day Royal Family. Our show is a modern day adaptation of Shakespeare’s As You Like It. This story follows our heroine Rosalind as she flees persecution in her uncle’s royal court along with her cousin Celia, in order to find safety and eventually even love in the Arden Country. Throughout their journey they learn a lot about not only themselves but the world around them. This is a story full of highs and lows but overall love; from platonic love to romantic love to even unrequited love.
